Sustainability is the goal of sustainable development and can Result from the application of the concept of sustainable Development.
It refers to both a structure and the application of process that are environmentally responsible of processes that are throughout a building’s life cycle.
Environmental sustainability is accomplished by reducing the impact of human activities on the natural systems that support the community. A major component of protecting the environment is the wise utilization of land. The links between climate change and sustainable development are strong. Poor and developing countries, particularly least developed countries, will be among those most adversely affected and least able to cope with the anticipated shocks to their social, economic and natural systems.
Climate in India is home to an extraordinary variety of climatic regions, ranging from tropical in the south to temperate and alpine in the Himalayan north, where elevated regions receive sustained winter snowfall. The nation's climate is strongly influenced by the Himalayas and the Thar Desert.
Many social and economic factors influence whether a community and its residents can thrive. For example, enduring residential segregation, the accessibility of early childhood education, and the availability of quality, affordable housing all have a demonstrated impact on both individual and community health.
Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment (GRIHA) is India’s own rating system jointly developed by TERI and the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Government of India.
GRIHA rating system consists of 34 criteria categorized in four different sections. Some of them are:-
(1) Site selection and site planning,
